When the birds suddenly fly away fast or remain still I know there is a Hawk. I go out and clap and make noise hawk leaves. Its a shame though that he ruins the birds fun!! I know it’s natures way. I provide great cover for them so Hawk cannot get to them!!
Looks like an immature Cooper’s Hawk or Sharp-shinned Hawk—tough to tell with the angle. Hopefully, they didn’t terrorize the feeders too much because it’s a great find and awesome picture!
Actually I’m in a condo with very small space. Here is another pic as he went to the deck next door..Or looking at the cat in the window!!There is a sharp skinned Hawk around as well. Odd since such a small area..
you could possibly take your feeders down (I am assuming you have feeders up?) for a few days and have the song birds disperse and the Hawk “should” go away. Then withing a week or two, put the feeders back up? Its really cool to see him so up close though!
