Hello! I saw this gorgeous bird in southern Texas (where) in mid-October (when). It looks like an Oriole, but it’s unlike any Oriole I’ve ever seen. Anybody know what kind of bird this is?
This bird was on a feeder in northcentral Texas on July 26, 2019
What you have there are House Sparrows. They often travel in clusters or flocks like in your picture. Notice the cheeks … below the eye is white, and at the eye and above is dark. That’s a good indicator at a glance. Leave some seed for them and they’ll keep coming back!
